Aker on Antarctic krill fishing: “All we have been doing is geared toward building a sustainable industry”
In this podcast, Hallvard Muri, CEO and president of krill giant Aker Biomarine talks about the company’s heritage in fishing, evolving markets in the US, Europe and Asia, and why sustainability is driven by a company ethic that has fishing, “in our DNA”.

Muri said the company invited inquisition into the Antarctic krill fishery that has been questioned by NGOs like Greenpeace, noting, “All we have been doing is geared toward supporting and building an industry that is sustainable long term”.

On markets, he observed that Europe was characterised by fragmentation, "which makes it a little more challenging".

He said an EU health claim was in preparation for submission in the second half of the year.

Shane Starling’s visit to Norway was funded by Aker Biomarine.
