A preservative-free, fresh-baked bread has been launched in Australia by bakery chain, Brumby’s Bakeries, the first time omega-3 has been available outside of long-life, supermarket versions.

A version of Brumby’s wholemeal bread is selling at its 300+ bakeries across Australia, a country where one of the most successful omega-3 functional foods sells – a supermarket bread called Tip Top Up Omega-3. A wholemeal version of that products has recently been introduced.

“Apart from the essential vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and fibre in wholemeal bread, the Omega 3 wholemeal loaf offers an additional health benefit,” said Brumby marketing manager Michelle McBride.
