Just another Meat Free Monday…

The movement towards avoiding meat one day a week to help address the impact on the climate is gathering pace, as Sir Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono and other stars launch a new campaign.

The campaign, called Meat Free Mondays, was launched at a green-carpet event in London. The aim is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from livestock, which is a cause of climate change.

Other celebrities involved include the singer Moby, Kelly Osbourne, and Monty Don.

The move follows a similar initiative in the Belgian town of Ghent, where town officials will eat non-meat meals once a week; from September schoolchildren, too, will go meat-free for a day.
