French based botanicals specialist, Naturex, has been named as one of the world’s top 20 sustainable stocks by SustainableBusiness.com.

A panel of green stock analysts put the list together, with those making the cut demonstrating green credentials at all organisational levels as well as a history of “healthy profitability” and good long-term investment prospects.

”Naturex was selected for this year’s SB20 List in the ‘sustainable food’ category because it produces products from plant extracts, replacing chemical ingredients,” said Rona Fried, PhD, CEO of SustainableBusiness.com.

“Besides being plant-based, its flavorings, colorings, antioxidants and preservatives are GMO-free and not tested on animals, providing a much healthier and environmentally responsible alternative for the food industry. Such ingredients are found throughout the food industry; therefore Naturex has the potential to make an important contribution on a large scale.”

SustainableBusiness.com noted companies that made the final list demonstrated ongoing green investment despite the recession.
