The company, which is attempting to turn itself into a functional and health foods specialist, will reduce personnel in administration and services to streamline the group after divesting its largest business unit in June.
The move is expected to generate annual cost savings of around €2 million, after a one-off cost of €3 million.
Raisio , the maker of cholesterol-lowering ingredient Benecol, has made a €220 million operating profit through the sale of Raisio Chemicals, which it says will fund new technology to upgrade and develop existing products in the Nutrition unit as well as the creation of combination or entirely new functional food ingredients, particularly those designed to help manage cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
It could also make some 'moderate' acquisitions to grow the business.
