Roquette is intensifying its research efforts into the protein potential of various plant forms, and used HIE to launch a pea form targeting sports nutrition products.

The company is not being exclusive about it however, and market development manager,  Aurélie Mauray-Soulier, PhD, is keen to see its “fine particle” Nutralys p-xf pea protein form blended with other proteins – even the “fast protein”, whey.

Mauray-Soulier said research indicated ‘slower’ pea proteins could deliver amino amino acid benefits for longer, aiding recovery.

Other areas like weight management are also in the French company’s sights.
