People who abuse their bodies by eating poorly and not exercising enough should pay more towards the National Health Service (NHS) than those who take better care of themselves, a business strategist has controversially suggested.

won't work!

we have private health care here in the US (the most expensive in the world, no less) and that doesn't stop people from stuffing themselves gratuitously. People want to eat fatty, salty, and sugary junk. The donut always wins!

Except genetic predispositions and getting old are not something that are easily prevented through diet and exercise. Obesity is, most of the time, completely preventable. Why should we pay for others laziness?

The comments made clearly state that those who take regular exercise and can demonstrate a healthy diet should pay less. Eric Hilton does not state that overweight persons should pay more, just that we should look to incentivise healthy choices.
