French supplier Polaris has entered the high-dose omega-3 sector with a fish oil capable of delivering 500mg of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) in one capsule.
The debut comes after a 2-year R&D project for the supplier that has long partnered with Norwegian omega-3 specialist, EPAX. It said the oils were derived from marine by-products
“Generic health claims relative to Omega 3 and especially DHA are in our favour. With this new oil, we can answer the claims of 250mg of DHA brought by one single capsule of 500mg per day,” said Anne Gaelle Grosdemange, quality manager at Polaris.
