BioReal (Sweden) has extensive expertise in producing natural astaxanthin, a highly effective antioxidant, to promote health in humans and animals.
We cultivate the alga Haematococcus pluvialis indoors to produce the highest and purest form of natural astaxanthin available. We have successfully been marketing astaxanthin as bulk material (AstaREAL) and retail products (Astaxin®, Astavita®) since 1995. We offer a range of unique patented astaxanthin-based products, developed using our unique technology and distributed through selected agents.
Astaxanthin is a natural red pigment found in animals, plants and bacteria – it gives salmon its characteristic pink colour, for example. Studies show that astaxanthin is a very powerful antioxidant . By protecting the individual cells in the body and having a anti-inflammatory effect the clinical effects of our natural astaxanthin are documented on several indications as skin and gastric health. It also contributes to increased muscle endurance and prevention of eye fatigue. Recent research focus on the effects of astaxanthin in prevention of heart- and vascular disease and type II diabetes linked to metabolic syndrome.
