Nuremberg Trade Fairs organisation (NurnbergMesse) announced on Thursday that it is to extend its annual organic trade show to the Far East. The first BioFach Japan - International Organic Trade Fair for the Asian market will take place in Tokyo from December 13 to 15, 2001. The International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) is the official sponsor of the event that aims to target producers and dealers of organic products. Visitors will include wholesalers, retailers, importers, and buyers. Of particular focus will be demonstrations to farmers who are considering conversion to organic farming. According to the organisers interest in organically grown and produced food, drinks and cosmetics has shown considerable growth among Japanese consumers.
