The partnership will focus on producing therapeutic ingredients for the skin health market, although Phytomedics declined to give any further details about the exact nature of the developments.
Phytomedics said that Henkel was one of the largest companies in the world involved in the skin care business, with a number of proprietary screening tools for a variety of cosmetic applications.
Ira Pastor, executive vice president of Phytomedics, said that the company would combine its plant-based natural products technologies with those of Henkel to create some "interesting products".
