The results of a new survey into consumer awareness of healthy ingredients provide positive news for manufacturers using dietary fibre in their products, claims a new report released this week.
The survey, carried out by research firm Hase Schannen Research in December 2001, revealed that almost all the consumers interviewed - 98 per cent - consider fibre to be healthy.
In addition to the findings on fibre, the survey found that consumers are increasingly turning to packaging and labelling as a source of information. Results showed that 79 per cent of women shoppers and 61 per cent of male shoppers said that they regularly read ingredient labels. The analysts interviewed a small sample of consumers, just 300 adults across the United States.
The survey was sponsored by the ingredients company Nutrinova.
