Reliv International, the manufacturer and marketer of nutritional supplements, is predicting record first quarter sales after a major improvement in its network marketing operations.
Reliv is predicting first quarter revenues of $14.5 million (€16.2m), up 3 per cent from 2001, helped by strong network marketing sales in the US, the Philippines, Mexico and other markets. These improvements will more than offset a reduction in revenues caused by the discontinuation of the company's contract manufacturing business, the company said.
First quarter sales from the network marketing operation should be around $14.4 million, Reliv said, an 18.6 per cent increase over the $12.2 million in network marketing sales for the same period a year ago.
"We are extremely pleased to see that the revenue momentum we established last year is continuing into 2002," said Robert L. Montgomery, president and chief executive officer of Reliv. "Company-wide, our network marketing sales are growing at a percentage pace in the high teens. All three of our largest geographic markets are making significant contributions to this performance - which should produce a quarter of record-setting revenues from our core multilevel marketing business."
Reliv will release its complete first quarter financial results on 7 May.
The company's products include nutritional and fibre supplements, diet management products, functional foods, sports drink mixes and a line of premium skin care products. Its proprietary product lines include an extensive line of soy-based products.
