Marshall-Blum is a medical research company specialising in clinical outcomes and quality improvement activities focusing in cardiac, pulmonary, orthopaedics, surgery and internal medicine, with the recent addition of integrative medicine.
Herbal Research has been conducting independent clinical trials for the natural product industry for over three years, and has successfully completed over 40 trials in product categories as diverse as diet, sexual enhancement, skin and cosmetics, snoring, smoking, blood pressure, cholesterol, body odour, menopause, aches and pains and hair loss.
The new round of trials includes a group of Chinese herbs for weight loss and for blood pressure control. Herbal Research is also conducting trials on non-ephedra weight loss products, glucose management, appetite suppression, cholesterol, PMS, stress and anxiety reduction, aches and pains, an anti-smoking homeopathic compound, and supplements to combat body odour and menstrual cramps.
The company's diet trials combine a low-refined carbohydrate diet and light exercise with or without a variety of products to demonstrate weight management, as well as a series of lectures on nutrition and related topics.
