Soy ingredients company Solbar Industries is to launch soy isolates in September this year as part of its strategy to offer a full range of soy proteins.

"Thanks to dramatic sales growth during the fiscal years 2001 and 2002, Solbar is expanding its already sizeable investment programme," said Gary Brenner, marketing director at Solbar Industries.

The Israeli company announed this week a move into its new headquarters, adjacent to the Solbar factory site in Ashdod, Israel. The move brings Solbar Hatzor, manufacturers of soy protein concentrates, soybean oil, meal and lecithin, and Solbar Plant Extracts, manufacturers of soy isoflavones and Solcon S, under the same roof.

"Our strategy is to be able to offer a full range of soy proteins (including flours, concentrates, isolates) and soy isoflavones, by the end of 2003. Since the functional foods market is very dynamic, we have expanded our R&D and technical support team in order to offer customers a growing number of speciality ingredients suitable for every sort of application and health benefit," he added.

Last year Solbar introduced Solcon S, Solgen 10/S soluble soy isoflavones and Solgen SR, slow release isoflavone.
