Polaris wins sustainable chemistry award from French Ministry
French nutra, pharma and cosmetics omega-3 biotech firm Polaris has won the Pierre Potier Price for “Innovation in Chemistry in favour of sustainable development”.

The award, given by the French Minister of Industry, Energy and numerical Economy, the Union of Chemical industries (UIC) and the French Federation for the sciences of Chemistry (FFC) recognised Polaris’s work in developing clean enzymatic solutions including a, “the short path distillation process…does not require the use of polluting solvents and allows the recycling of enzymes.

A borage oil with 40% gamma linolenic acid (GLA) with food supplement and cosmetic applications was an example of the processing potential.
