Cheery fruit and veg
A high intake of fruit and vegetables could be the key to living a calmer, happier, and more energetic life, according to this research reported in January.
The study, published in the British Journal of Health Psychology, investigated the relationship between day-to-day emotions and food consumption, finding that people who eating more fruit and vegetables generally score themselves as happier, and more energetic than those who consume very little.
"On days when people ate more fruits and vegetables, they reported feeling calmer, happier and more energetic than they normally did," said the researcher behind the study.
"After further analysis we demonstrated that young people would need to consume approximately seven to eight total servings of fruits and vegetables per day to notice a meaningful positive change.”
