Hyper caffeinated
Food supplements with too-high caffeine levels were rejected by the French authorities as they arrived from the Netherlands.
The supplements contained 17.1 mg per 100 g. It is unclear what dosages were suggested on pack but earlier this year the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) concluded 400 mg a day and 200 mg per sitting was safe for adults.
The caffeine content of a single can of Red Bull is 80 mg/250 ml, while an average cup of coffee contains around 95 mg.
