60 mg of B6 vitamin
Germany blocked an import of supplements from the Netherlands that contained too high content of vitamin B6.
The supplements contained more than 60 mg/item.
The safe limit for vitamin B6 for adults is 25 mg per day, according to a tolerable upper intake limit set by EFSA in 2000. For children this was set at between 5 and 20 mg per day.
The report said severe toxicity could be produced at doses of 500 mg per day or more and that minor neurological symptoms could occur at doses of 100 mg per day or more if consumed for long periods.
