Four years, £2.75m: UK government looks to fill nutrition data gaps

“In particular, the programme will focus on improving the availability, quality and use of surveillance and early warning data across a range of countries to help mitigate the impact of seasonal food insecurity, disease outbreaks, and other shocks and disasters on malnutrition (including stunting and wasting),” said the DFID, the UK government department responsible for overseas aid.
It said the successful programme proposal would likely involve innovative modelling using open access and novel solutions to data collection and analysis, which “make best use of new technologies whilst avoiding overburdening existing data collection systems”.
Full details of the Strengthening Data for Nutrition Programme (SDNP) tender will be posted in early 2016 and the DFID will hold a meeting for possible bidders on Friday 12th February, for which interested parties should register by Monday 8th February.
