Probiota 2018 - SQUARE

Moving to Barcelona for its 2018 edition, the congress will explore the frontier of prebiotic, probiotic and microbiome science, and how that is applied in the commercial world for food and nutraceutical players everywhere.

After months of searching, and sifting through abstracts submitted late last year, our Scientific Committee has settled on three winners of the Probiota Scientific Frontiers sessions.

The three top abstracts will be presented to more than 300 delegates – made up of leading academics and top international executives from companies working in the related fields of probiotics, prebiotics and the microbiome –  in a special session hosted by NutraIngredients Science Editor, Will Chu, at the IPA World Congress + Probiota 2018.

The three winning abstracts are:

  • Anna Happel, University of Cape Town
Presenting on: Vaginal versus commercially available probiotic Lactobacillus spp. for vaginal health
  • Serge Gouin, Université de Montréal
Presenting on: Probiotic Regimen for Outpatient Gastroenteritis – Utility of Treatment (PROGUT) Study: A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial
  • Vasiliki Kachrimanidou, University of Reading
Presenting on: An in-vitro evaluation of different carbohydrates on the selective fermentation of Lactobacillus rhamnosus ATCC 53103

A further group of selected abstracts will be presented as posters as part of the Probiota Scientific Frontiers: Poster Sessions.
