The submission deadline for the NutraIngredients Awards 2018 has been extended until Friday 9th February due to high demand. There is still time to submit your ingredients, finished products, research and innovations to one of our 12 categories.

Rewarding true innovation, long-term market success and cutting edge research in healthy foods, supplements and functional nutrition the 2018 NutraIngredients Awards gala evening will host an industry-wide celebration of success. And it’s not quite too late to get your entry in to us!

Held on Wednesday May 16th in Geneva, after the second day of Vitafoods Europe, the dinner and awards ceremony has become a fixture of the Vitafoods calendar.

Deadline extension: In it to win it!

Entries for the 12 prestigious awards are open now – with categories to celebrate ingredient and finished product success in addition to highly competitive categories for nutrition research, personalised nutrition, and start-ups.

The closing date for awards entries is now Friday 9nd February 2018. 

Entering the awards is a great way to showcase your hard work and achievements, and communicate your successes within your business and externally to the trade and consumers.

The 12 categories for the NutraIngredients-Awards aim to celebrate the best ingredients, finished products, research, companies, innovations and people that industry has to offer in key consumer categories.

For the first time ever, this includes a NutraChampion Award​, designed to celebrate individual personal achievements and the good work done by the biggest personalities in our industry. This prestigious award is by nomination only – and is free to enter and nominate.

“The range of categories provides nutraceutical, functional and healthy food industry players with multiple opportunity to enter, and showcase their unique talents and successes,” ​said NutraIngredients senior editor Nathan Gray, who will chair the judging panel.

“From finished product manufacturers to ingredients suppliers, start-ups, universities and contract research organisations – and even individuals who have contributed hugely to the industry – there is a chance for all to get the recognition they deserve.”

“I am also excited that we will launch our own Editors Award category, which in 2018 will offer all parts of the industry an opportunity to enter their most innovative functional food solutions,”​ he added.

“Whether it is an innovation in delivery format, encapsulation and formulation or packaging, we want the Editor’s Award to celebrate the best new ideas and technologies that are driving innovation in the functional food space.”

This is your chance to stand out as a leader in your market segment and showcase your success and innovation to the rest of the industry in the following areas:

Ingredient of the Year Awards​ – open to entries from single ingredient or ingredient blends sold in the B2B environment the Ingredient of the Year category rewards the best ingredients in four key application areas. There is no limit for how long the market must have been on the market, but it must be available within the EMEA region at the time of application.

Product of the Year Awards​ – open to entries from finished consumer goods sold either as your own brand or through private label agreements this group of awards are split by primary ingredient and are open to any finished consumer goods - including dietary supplements and functional foods - that contain the relevant ingredient as a primary part of its formulation. There is no limit for how long the finished product must have been on the market, but it must be available within the EMEA region at the time of application.

Other Categories ​– open to entries that are non product or ingredient specific – these awards celebrate the achievements of people, research groups and whole companies in addition to rewarding new innovations within the industry. 

The independent awards will be judged by some of the sharpest eyes and minds​ in nutrition including: Patrick Coppens, Director Regulatory & Scientific Affairs at Food Supplements Europe; Jens Bleiel, CEO, Food for Health Ireland; and Dr Astrid Stuckelberger, from Faculty of Medicine – University of Geneva and Lausanne.

“Following the high quality and quantity of entries received, and strong competition, for the 2017 edition –and based on feedback from the industry, this year’s NutraIngredients Awards will see a few change to our categories and entry criteria,” ​commented Graham Twyford, executive director for EMEA/APAC.

”These changes will now be ‘locked in’ for the next three years in order to ensure clearer entry criteria, even higher quality entries, and sustainable market weight for successful finalists and winners in all categories.”
