The vast majority of food manufacturers are open to a dialogue on how to get more from their ingredient supply chain, according to president of DSM Food Specialties Hans Christian Ambjerg.
Growth in DSM’s human and animal nutrition cluster is set to continue after the company this morning indicated an ongoing commitment to broadening its portfolio and did not rule out probiotic and/or botanical acquisitions.

A probiotic strain developed by DSM is more stable at room
temperature than competing products, says the company, although it
has declined to disclose numbers to support the claims.
DSM Food Specialties will be presenting its second generation Lafti
probiotic strains, formulated for use in dietary supplements, at
the forthcoming Vitafoods show in Geneva.
The dairy ingredients business unit of Dutch company DSM Food
Specialties has opened its first sales and customer service office
in the Far East - marking the company's continued investment in
this part of the world.
At the Fi Europe 2001, DSM Food Specialties will introduce a new
application of its FirmFruit® enzyme system designed to enhance the
appearance and consistency of processed tomato pieces in
end-product applications.
