Haiti
Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere and, according to WHO, 1 in 3 Haitian children under age 5 are vitamin A deficient.
Vitamin Angels is working to reach children and moms that are without access to proper nutrition due to geographical or economic conditions. Some are living in tent camps outside the capitol of Port-au-Prince, displaced 3 years ago by the 2010 earthquake, while others live in remote locations only accessible by hours of driving down dirt roads, fording rivers, and sometimes even hiking to small villages.
