Australian researchers have designed a nanoparticle one thousandth the width of a human hair, which they say has demonstrated potential to protect antioxidants from destruction in the gut.
Nanoemulsions containing bioactive compounds such as curcumin or
antioxidants like lycopene may reduce the growth and spread of
cancer cells by over 70 per cent, according to researchers.
The health benefits of curcumin, the natural pigment that gives the
spice turmeric its yellow colour, could be enhanced by
encapsulation in nano-emulsions, suggests new research.
