Erectile dysfunction supplements a flop in Cyprus
Cyprus rejected supplements from the States that contained 27.6 mg of tadalafil – a pharmaceutical used to treat erectile dysfunction and pulmonary arterial hypertension.
The buyers were informed.
Tadalafil has come up in several incriminating reports on supplement adulteration.
Last year the Swedish Medical Products Agency (MPA) said nearly 70% of ‘sexual potency’ food supplements it tested contained unlisted pharmaceutical ingredients such as tadalafil.
Meanwhile FDA tests earlier this year showed Viagra and Cialis APIs like tadalafil were present in over 100 brands of bogus ‘sexual enhancement’ pills.
While approved as a drug, it may impact efficacy of other medicines if taken simultaneously.
