Graviola leaf powder
Finland rejected a batch of organic graviola leaf powder (Annona muricata) originating from the Czech Republic with the raw material from Peru. While it has a history of therapeutic use in countries like Brazil, in the EU it is classified as an unauthorised novel food.
A product recall was issued to consumers.
The plant, native to the Caribbean and Central America but now widely cultivated, is also known as soursop.
The green powder is widely available online through retailers like Amazon.
