Anthony Hehir, market development manager, Europe, Middle East and Africa, DSM Nutritional products tells Shane Starling about the reasoning behind the company’s new health benefit-based portfolio.

Hehir explains how positive European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) health claim opinions have allowed the company to build a suite of offerings based around twelve health benefits including women’s health, immunity and bone health.

“There have been a lot of positive opinions around vitamins therefore allowing us to put quite a lot of substantial evidence and reassurance behind the twelve health benefits,” Hehir said.

“With the positive opinions that we have received so far we are able to give some sort of an idea to our customers about what they can say … and navigate their way through this EFSA situation while these opinions are being formed.”
