The aim of this study was to investigate the mechanism of action of Femme, a probiotic ingredient composed by L. plantarum-PBS067, L. rhamnosus-LRH020 and B. lactis-BL050, against urogenital pathogens as C. albicans, G. vaginalis, E. coli and others.
The antimicrobial and antiadhesive properties were evaluated on a vaginal and bladder epithelium infected with a wide range of urogenital pathogens. Results show that Femme is able to compete and prevent the growth of the most common urogenital pathogens.
