NutraIngredients and ESSNA announce strategic partnership – including new flagship Sports Nutrition congress

A new collaboration between the European Specialist Sports Nutrition Alliance (ESSNA) and William Reed, the publishers of NutraIngredients, will benefit the sports nutrition sector and provide the platform for a new annual Sports Nutrition congress that bridges the gaps in science, business and regulation.

The partnership will see ESSNA and William Reed commit to building mutually beneficial collaborations in the exciting and rapidly growing area of sports nutrition, whilst retaining their own independence and editorial control.

Under the terms of the agreement, NutraIngredients will become “Digital Media Partner” of ESSNA. Furthermore, William Reed will launch a NutraIngredients Sports Nutrition Congress, in association with ESSNA.

The first NutraIngredients Sports Nutrition Congress, in association with ESSNA, is planned for Brussels in September 2018.

“We are delighted to be partnering with NutraIngredients once again to deliver this one of a kind sports nutrition conference,” ​said Dr Adam Carey, Chair of ESSNA. “ESSNA has grown exponentially over the years and we have many exciting projects planned that will take us from strength to strength; this conference series is just one of many new benefits we will be looking to provide to our members and the wider industry over the course of 2018.”

Together with the launch of the annual sports nutrition congress, the partnership will also combine the expertise of ESSNA and NutraIngredients, and the wider William Reed family, to expand the number of other engagement touchpoints for the sports nutrition community, and disseminate relevant content to the sector on a regular basis.

The European Specialist Sport Nutrition Alliance (ESSNA) is the trade association representing the interests of the sport nutrition sector across the European Union. Its members are big international companies, smaller specialist brands, suppliers of ingredients, sport nutrition publications, as well as national associations.

ESSNA was created in 2003 to campaign for appropriate European legislation on sports nutrition products.  Today ESSNA is a mature and respected organisation, widely recognised by legislators and the mainstream media as the voice of the responsible specialist sports nutrition sector in Europe.
