200 people from the European and international food and nutrition sectors helped 20 finalists and seven winners celebrate at the inaugural NutraIngredients Awards last night at Vitafoods Europe.

After dinner and wine, the suspense was lifted as our judging panel rewarded ingredients and finished product innovation in large and small firms as well as universities.

"We were delighted with the enthusiastic industry response to the awards with 129 entries," said Graham Twyford, William Reed Business Media head of food in  EMEA.

"On the awards dinner itself, we not only wanted to recognise and celebrate the winners but also ensure that everybody present enjoyed an entertaining evening with a mix of good food, drink, music and celebration. The feedback we've received from the 200+ people present so far has been very gratifying."

The Editor’s Choice Award – in association with Finished Products Europe 2015 – was won by Imperial-Oel-Import for its omega-3 separating pouch, MarisMix OmegaPassion DHA.

“The quantity and quality of entries was so strong it really was hard to select winners so every finalist brought products and concepts that deliver real nutrition benefits to the world,” said NutraIngredients senior editor, Shane Starling. “Bring on 2016!”

"Preparation has already begun for NutraIngredients Awards 2016 which we again plan to host during the Vitafoods Europe show dates of May 10th-12th. We'll be increasing the number of award categories so I'm sure the level of entries will be higher again" Twyford added.
