Dr. Noelle Reid, a family physician and founder of Trinity Health and Wellness Medical Group in Los Angeles. said that for optimal health, well-balanced nutrition, regular movement, proper stress management and adequate rest should all be at the very foundation of one’s lifestyle.
“We do know now that there are cellular nutrients that can also be used as an adjunct, to work in concert with all of these behavioral things that perhaps can slow down the aging process of the cell or the decline that occurs and specifically because these nutrients have been designed to address the mitochondrial changes that occur, so they specifically work to improve mitochondrial function in production as we move through the life cycle,” said Dr. Reid.
“Cellular nutrients that have been well-tested and studied would include that of nicotinamide riboside, urolithin A, and GlyNAC, which is short for glycine N-acetyl cysteine. These are key nutrients that can be added to one's daily intake to improve upon mitochondrial function and thus cellular function.”
Dr. Reid added that these cellular nutrients are key ingredients in Celltrient, a new range of supplements and nutritional beverages from Nestle Health Science. Dr. Reid is a Consulting Physician for Cellrtrient.
