Probiotics firm Roelmi achieves highest award for CSR efforts

Probiotics firm Roelmi HPC has been awarded Platinum status for 2021 by ratings firm EcoVadis, for its efforts in implementing environmental-friendly practices core to its No Impact In Progress (NIP) program.

The Award follows the firm’s success in previous years, where it has obtained Gold status twice in a row achieving a score of 75/100 this year placing them in the top 1% of the most highly rated companies in the same activity sector.

“The environmental impact of our productions is highly reduced thanks to the adoption of eco-sustainable processes,” ​says the Milan-based firm.

“They aim to keep high-quality standards and efficacies, while optimising sustainability from the entire product Life Cycle perspective.”

Top marks

Roelmi, which offer a range of active ingredients for the sports nutrition and gut health markets, scored highly on progress made in the four evaluation categories: environment, labour practices and human rights, ethics, sustainable purchasing.

Particular credit went to the firm’s NIP program, which aims to create sustainable innovation while respecting the environment, the conservation of biodiversity and the use of sustainable sources.

“NIP applies to all Roelmi products and technologies,”​ the firm explains. “It stands as a mission for every process focusing on Quality, People safety and Environment preservation.

“Roelmi believes that only the daily action in respect to the environment can lead to a durable result.
