in net revenues for the first quarter 2002.

Natural Alternatives International, Inc., US formulator and manufacturer of customised nutritional supplements, reported a drop in net revenues for the first quarter 2002, compared to the first quarter of 2001. The company reported net revenues of $9.9 million (11.2 million euros) in the first quarter of fiscal 2002, compared to $10.2 million (11.6 million euros) in the first quarter of fiscal 2001, a decrease of $336,000 (380,000 euros) or 3 per cent. Fiscal 2002 first quarter revenues decreased by 4.5%, or $467,000 (529,000 euros), from fourth quarter fiscal 2001 revenues of $10.3 million (11.7 million euros). Despite the drop in revenues, Randell Weaver, Chief Financial & Operations Officer remained positive. "As a result of our efforts to strengthen the Company's financial position and diversify our sales mix, sales in our direct-to-consumer physician's branded product line have continued to increase, this quarter by $1 million or 100% over the same quarter last year. We are pleased with our progress in controlling costs and diversifying our sales mix.''
