An agreement between MedQuest Pharmacy and DNA service GeneLink in
the US is to start in a few weeks time.

US-based MedQuest Pharmacy has signed a licensing and distribution agreement with DNA banking company GeneLink to use its genetic profiling technology to customise nutritional supplements and skincare products.

MedQuest has placed its initial order for GeneLink's profiling assessment kits for August, 2002. Revenue will start immediately, according to the companies.

MedQuest Pharmacy will use GeneLink's patented DNA Collection Kit and genetic profiling technologies to provide its network of doctors with skin care and nutritional products.

"GeneLink's cutting edge proprietary profiling and analysis technology is a perfect fit with MedQuest's sharp focus on 'customisation to support preventive health care and longevity medicine," said John DePhillipo, chairman and CEO of GeneLink.

MedQuest Pharmacy, a "compounding pharmacy," provides health care practitioners with diagnostic services and customised pharmaceuticals and nutraceutical products. It has around 1,500 active healthcare professionals and over 20,000 patients.

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to link two companies well versed in predicting, personalising, and preventing many age-related complications," said Jacques Bray, CEO of MedQuest. "I believe that MedQuest Pharmacy and GeneLink are the perfect formula for a lucrative and leading undertaking. Our physician network is eagerly anticipating the launch of these important products."

GeneLink has developed a proprietary method for genetic assessments (patents pending) and has started licensing these nutragenetic and dermagenetic profiles to companies that market or manufacture products for the skin care, nutritional supplement, and health care industries.
