US-based Sterling Foods has signed an agreement with Nutraceutical Clinical Laboratories International (NCLI) to use its natural preservative NuPreserv in its baked goods.

Sterling currently produces baked good products for both the United States Armed Forces and commercial markets.

"We are very excited about the benefits that NuPreserv will add to our baked goods. With NuPreserv we will be using a more natural preservative, which will help to extend the freshness of our baked goods," said John Likovich, president and CEO of Sterling Foods.

"Joining with Sterling provides us with another quality partner for our preservative products," said Gary Harrison, NCLII's chairman and chief executive officer. "This new contract with Sterling is another step in the continued growth of our business within the bakery segment. Additionally, we are also continuing our testing of NuPreserv in many other new products," he added.
