ADM Natural Health and Nutrition is launching a new vitamin E for use in clear beverages onto the European market.

230 Clear, to be presented at the Vitafoods show in May, has been designed to respond to the growing trend for vitamin-enriched beverages including 'designer waters'. The product is a water-soluble form of natural-source vitamin E and can be easily added to transparent beverages without compromising the clarity, according to ADM.

The company suggests the product can be used in fruit or vegetable juices, juice concentrates, nutritional or sport beverages. The high stability of vitamin E 230 Clear also enables its use for food fortification and in personal care applications.

Vitamin E is an essential nutrient associated with a number of health benefits including heart health maintenance.

ADM markets a range of natural-source vitamin E products, including mixed tocopherols, d-alpha-tocopherol, d-alpha-tocopheryl acetate and d-alpha-tocopheryl succinate. The company will also be presenting its Novasoy soya isoflavones range, used in dietary supplements marketed for reduction of menopausal symptoms, and heart and bone health.

ADM Natural Health and Nutrition is part of the US agricultural processor Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM), one of the world's largest processors of soya beans, corn, wheat and cocoa.

Vitafoods takes place from 13-15 May at the Palexpo Centre in Geneva, Switzerland.
