Enzymotec adds high grade PS
phosphatidylserine (PS) product, used to improve cognition and
enhance memory in supplements.
Israeli company Enzymotec has introduced a high quality phosphatidylserine (PS) product called SharpPS.
The new ingredient contains 60 per cent PS, in a powdered fat-free formulation.
"Its soy phospholipids source, high concentration, and free flowing properties, make it the ideal choice for advanced dietary supplements and functional foods formulations," said Dr Subhi Basheer, Enzymotec's CTO.
The company, which develops innovative products for the nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals markets, also markets PS in different grades, ranging from 20 per cent to 60 per cent, and in both liquid and powdered forms. All of them are easily used in a wide range of products and formulations, according to the firm.
PS is a natural nutrient, which in supplement form is said to improve cognitive function and enhance various brain activities in all age groups. Clinical studies have also found the nutrient to repair and maintain brain tissues and neurons, improve memory impairment, concentration and short-term memory.
