"We don't just sell capsules, we sell a whole service," a spokesperson for Capsugel told NutraIngredients.com this week at the Vitafoods International trade fair.

Capsugel, a subsidiary of Pfizer, and a leader in two-piece capsules, is currently promoting a vegetarian delivery for liquids and semi-solids. The vegetarian liquid capsules are made of a cellulose derivative called HPMC (hydroxypropyl methycellulose) and, the company claims, can meet the needs of "today's dietary supplement customer".

"The capsules deliver liquid and semi-solid formulations in vegetarian capsules with an invisible seal without banding," added the Capsugel spokesperson.

Capsugel has production plants around the world with two in Europe at Bornmem in Belgium and Colmar in France.
