The UK's Food Standards Agency has updated information on products made by Australia's Pan Pharmaceuticals which have been on sale in the UK.

The company, which made food supplements, herbal products and medicines, had its manufacturing licence suspended by the Australian authorities at the end of April due to a series of serious safety and quality control breaches.

The FSA said no health problems have been reported in connection with the food supplements and herbal products that have been supplied to the UK by Pan Pharmaceuticals but it was taking precautionary measures warning consumers not to take certain Pan brands.

The Agency has been liaising with food supplement importers, trade associations and local authorities to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on these products. Pan supplements known to have been distributed to the UK since May 2002 include several under the Kordel brand, Healthwise vitamin and minerals and certain batches of Thompson brand supplements. Further information is available from the FSA.
