Cognis stresses customer service

Cognis Nutrition and Health, the producer of nature-based ingredients and application technology for health and food products, has expanded its customer service centre in the US and moved to a new location in Cincinnati, Ohio.
"Our focus on proactive account management has earned our Cincinnati customer service centre a world-class reputation. Continuous improvements to services offered such as an inside sales programme, on-line order status and, in the near future, on-line order tracking, are just a few examples of initiatives we are taking to better serve our customers," said Bonnie Reeves, director of customer service at Cognis in the US.
The customer service team performs a number of functions, including sending product samples, ensuring rapid delivery, product documentation and formulation assistance, scientific and technical support and marketing and communications support.
Cognis Nutrition and Health, a business unit of the Cognis Group, provides antioxidant, botanical and nature-based ingredients for dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, functional foods and medical nutrition and animal nutrition.
Cognis itself was formed by the spin off of the chemical activities of Germany's Henkel group in August 1999. In November 2001 it was acquired by the investors Permira Funds, GS Capital Partners and Schroder Ventures Life Sciences Funds. As well as Nutrition and Health, Cognis also operates in the fields of Care Chemicals, Oleochemicals, Functional Products and Process Chemicals.
