The UK-based Health Food Manufacturers’ Association (HFMA) has posthumously handed food supplements pioneer, Rand Skolnick, its highest accolade for his service to the natural health sector.

Skolnick began selling his family’s food supplement in the UK after arriving in 1988 and played a key role in the brand’s rise to becoming one of the most respected in Europe and elsewhere.

“Rand’s many business achievements, as well as the outstanding dedication and devotion he demonstrated to the natural health industry in his lifetime, make him a thoroughly deserving winner of this esteemed award,” said HFMA Chairman John Redman.

Previous winners of the Maurice Hanssen award include Dame Barbara Cartland, Penny Viner, Sue Croft and Derek Shrimpton.

Gill Cox was named HFMA Health Journalist of the Year.
