The director of the high-dose supplements lobby group and consumer advocate, Consumers for Health Choice, Sue Croft, has been recognised for decades of hard work by being awarded the Natural Products Outstanding Achievement Award.

High-profile advocates, Carole Caplin and Jenny Seagrove, presented Croft with the award at the Natural & Organic Awards held in London recently causing Croft to remark, “I was absolutely stunned on the night!”

Croft and CHC have been a vocal critic of the potentially devastating impact of European Union legislation such as the Food Supplements Directive (FSD) and the Traditional Herbal Products Medicines and Products Directive (THMPD) could have on the relatively liberal food supplements market in the UK. “This is an award for the whole CHC team,” she said. “The really wonderful thing was all the people who came up to me the next day at the show to congratulate me. Lots of them were new faces to me, and probably me to them — so the award has had the instant effect of raising awareness of CHC’s work. That’s really heartening.”
