Lonza and Multipower forge supply partnership deal

A spokesperson for Lonza told NutraIngredients.com: “This deal is important to Lonza's Carnipure business as it shows that leading companies commit to our Carnipure quality.​
The new contract was a renewal of existing agreements and reflects Atlantic Mulitpower's commitment to high quality ingredients.” ​

Energy metabolism​

A natural nutrient, L-carnitine plays an essential role in the body`s energy metabolism. Formerly known as vitamin BT. L-carnitine, transports fatty acids into the energy-producing areas of the cells where energy be generated from the fatty acids.

L-Carnitine is important in supplying energy to many organs in the body, such as the heart, muscles, liver and immune cells. Key roles include: Producing energy from fat, ensuring athletic endurance, promoting recovery after exercise, providing the heart and immune cells with energy and preventing early onset of fatigue during exercise.

According to a company statement: “L-Carnitine plays an important role in fat and energy metabolism. It is produced in the body and can be found in some foods. It transports long-chain fatty acids into the cells’ mitochondria, where they are transformed into energy. Extensive scientific research has shown that supplementary Carnipure can play a beneficial role in various areas of health.”​

The quality seal signals to consumers that we only use ingredients of highest quality. “ ​

Lonza was unable to specify the length of the length of the supply agreement. The company has supplied Atlantic Mulitpower with Carnipure for more than a decade.

Lonza markets L-carnitine as Carnipure crystalline, which is pure L-carnitine and Carnipure tartrate, a non-hygroscopic form made of L-Carnitine and tartaric acid.
