Yesterday’s article Carnitine transporter may adapt to lower levels in vegetarians: Study incorrectly stated that Lonza’s L-Carnitine ingredient Carnipure is derived from animal sources. In fact, it is vegetarian.

Dr Kevin Owen, Nafta head of technical marketing and scientific affairs at Lonza, said: “Although L-Carnitine is naturally present in meat products, Lonza’s Carnipure is not derived from animal sources and is synthesized by a patented multi-step biological production process.”

The original article has now been corrected and is available here.
