StarchLite gets Australasia distributor
StarchLite, which is also known as Phase 2 white kidney bean extract, is the only ingredient of its kind with two US structure and function claims for starch reduction and weight control. It has become the leading carb-control ingredient for food and dietary supplements sold worldwide.
“StarchLite has been shown in numerous clinical studies to reduce the digestion of starch and aid in weight control,” said said Frank Ruckriegel of Pacific Resources. “We believe it’s a more effective component of starchy foods than any resistant starch. Consequently, it can be added to carb-rich foods like bread, pasta, rice and potatoes to reduce the caloric impact of these favorite foods. It is also ideal for beverages and bars.”
StarchLite temporarily inhibits the enzyme that digests starch, allowing a portion of the starch to pass through the body undigested, like fibre. Sensory studies have shown it does not affect the taste or texture of food. StarchLite may also be used as a functional seasoning with the same effect.
