Boots, Germans join EU supplements trade group
UK pharmacy chain Boots and German food supplement association BLL have joined Food Supplements Europe (FSE), formed last year with a membership including DSM, Merck, Herbalife and various national trade groups.
“We are delighted that BLL and Boots UK have joined Food Supplements Europe so early in its development,” said Ingrid Atteryd, FSE chair.
“BLL’s approach is in line with ours of engaging in discussion with the political and scientific bodies. Boots UK brings unique experience of manufacturing, distribution and retail.”
She added: “Food Supplements Europe is working to build an EU regulatory system that takes into account the specificities of food supplements and to provide solutions on regulatory, scientific, and technical matters based on knowledge, dialogue and transparency.”
“We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with these new members of the association.”
