The world-class agenda for the inaugural Probiota Asia has been confirmed, with speakers from major probiotics firms and renowned academics to present at the three-day summit, to be held at the Hilton Singapore from 11 to 13 October.

Among the speakers at the event are DuPont Nutrition & Health’s Cyndy Au, who will talk about opportunities in Asia’s high-growth probiotics market, and Japanese Society of Anti-Ageing Nutrition president Dr Bejit Ideas, who will reveal how probiotics can help solve skin problems.

The University of Seattle’s Dr Lynne McFarland will also be on hand to discuss the efficacy of single- and multi-strain probiotic mixtures, while the National University of Singapore’s Assoc Prof Liu Shao Quan will shed light on how to enable the survival of probiotics in beer.

Other speakers include Michelle Teodoro from Mintel, Joy Chong from Watson’s, Dr Guus Roeselers from Danone Nutricia Research, Prof Luis Vitetta from the University of Sydney, Dr Toshihisa Ota from the Yakult Central Institute, and more.

Apart from comprehensive conferences featuring presenters and speakers from leading academic institutions and businesses, attendees can look forward to interactive sessions that include roundtable lunches and speed networking.

The event will close with a panel discussion on where the greatest potential for future prebiotic and probiotic research can be found, and how it can help to counter Asia’s biggest health challenges.

Call for abstracts

The panel discussion will be chaired by NutraIngredients-Asia’s editor-in-chief, Gary Scattergood, with the panellists to be announced at a later date.

Researchers and those engaged in all aspects of microbiome science in academia, industry, and consumer health are now being urged to submit abstracts to the scientific committee.

Successful authors will be invited to present their work either as an oral presentation or in a poster at Probiota Asia.

Those whose abstracts are accepted as posters will receive a 50% discount on their registration for the conference.

Questions about the abstract submission process can be addressed to Dr Gemma Pearce at trzzn.crnepr@jeoz.pbz.
