There is compelling evidence to back supplementation with omega-3, vitamin D and macular carotenoids to improve health outcomes as people age, according to the head of the Blackmores Institute.

Dr Lesley Braun delivered a keynote presentation at our recent healthy Ageing APAC Summit in Singapore, and then gave a recap of her key findings on camera.

In the video, she outlines the latest research that supports the positive impact of omega-3 on all-cause mortality and cognitive health.

She also draws attention to the benefits of vitamin D — including how high-dose supplementation has been found to deliver significant brain health improvements — and pinpoints some of the emerging science behind macular carotenoids.

The summit, organised by NutraIngredients-Asia and FoodNavigator-Asia, brought together industry, policymakers and regulators to assess the business opportunities arising from Asia Pacific's rapidly ageing population.

Watch the video to see more of Dr Braun's insights.
