Milan-based Gnosis says its new fermentation line operating at its Pisticicci manufacturing plant in southern Italy will help it meet growing demand for vitamin K2 as MK7.

Demand for its VitaMK7 ingredient has been outstripping supply, said Gnosis – adding that the new 120 metre cubed fermenter, will satisfy growing customer demand and increase the total fermentative capacity of the plant to 350 cubic metres.

The new line was opened at the Pisticci manufacturing plant at the beginning of November and is entirely dedicated to the production of vitaMK7.

Gnosis said its VitaMK7 is one of its top-selling ingredients and is produced naturally through a patented biofermentation process using Bacillus subtilis natto.
